Heyyyyyy guys! I hope your day has been going well. What fun crafts have y’all been working on? I absolutely love bringing out the spring decor this time of year. It’s fun working on spring projects and putting away all the things Winter.

I just love this time of year. The warm Spring weather in Utah is the best!

So one thing I have really been working on is bringing out the neutral design element in my home. I love white EVERYTHING. So today I am going to show you a cute shabby chic decor hack that you will fall in love with!

I love vintage decor books don’t you? I scored an entire box of old vintage gorgeous books from a yard sale last summer that I have displayed as decor on one of my books shelves. Truth be told, I have been dying to get more. But for the time being I decided I would make my own neutral vintage shabby chic books.

Items you will need for this project:

So I ran over to the dollar store and grabbed 3 hard cover books that I knew would be perfect for this project. You can pick up books to use from any store, but I wanted to keep this project fairly inexpensive.

I made sure they were all the same size and took the paper cover off.

I painted the navy blue book white because I wanted this set neutral. It took a couple coats of paint to cover up the blue.

I let it dry for an hour or so, then it was ready to distress the books to give them the perfect vintage look.

I lightly sanded the words off the sides as well as the edges of the books.

Sanding is such a great quick tip to make something look antiqued and old.

They looked like real vintage books when I was finished sanding them.

I got some pretty burlap lace ribbon that I wrapped around all three stacked books.

I made these gorgeous shabby chic flowers to put on my books. They were so pretty. You can learn how to make them here.

I just started gluing the flowers across the burlap ribbon in both directions.

Here is the finished result! They are so pretty!!! If you end up making these shabby chic vintage books, don’t forget to tag me on Instagram in your photos! I love seeing all your projects.
